THE HOUSE

The house is located in Castell de Montornes, a village at about 5km North of the coastal town of Torredemabarra, between Barcelona (80km) and Tarragona (17km).

Torredembarra is a very active place all over summer: watersports, marina (with restaurants, bars), important weekly market and summer acitivities in town and on the beach.

The house is a separate property with two floors, east-oriented, with a swimming pool. The courtyard is paved and walled.

On the main side, at the ground level, a terrace and a large veranda, both accessible from the dining/living room, give direct access to the swimming pool area.

A large and shaded BBQ area is situated in the back of the house, allowing very pleasant open air lunches and dinners.

We did spend two weeks in the villa, two families with total of 9 persons from Finland. When we arrived we did get good presentation of the house and the area nearby from Yves and Isabelle. House was great, location was great, pool was great, the BBQ + kitchen was great, so no complaints at all. From the local small shop it was easy to get warm bread every morning and all the other amenities were quite easy to carry from Torredembarra just few kilometers to the coastline. For the sports the place was also great, just one hundred meters to tennis-, and football courts. So in short; " Perfect place to spend holidays with frends and relatives"- so five stars for sure.

"Beautiful and clean villa in a quiet location"

Isabelle and Yves were lovely hosts, very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. The villa is wonderful, spacious and clean. Eating out does require you to have a car although there are plenty of restaurants within 5-10 minute drive. The location is excellent, next to the lovely town of Torredembarra with amazing beaches where we took the train to Barcelona for €6.50 return! Also Tarragona is only 20km away - another lovely larger Spanish town full of quaint alleyways and individual shops. Being british our only recommendation would be to have English TV channels available! Thank you Isabelle and Yves for a lovely stay in your beautiful villa.

 LOCATION - ACCESS

Access to Castell de Montornes is very easy, either through AP7 motorway (Exit 32 "Torredembarra") or N340 highway from Barcelona to Torredembarra (then, T 210/211 road, via "La Pobla de Montornes").
 

THINGS TO SEE/DO AROUND

A one-day visit (at the very least!) to Barcelona is a must: however, it is not really useful to go there by car from the house: tolls, trafic jams, expensive car parks, etc.

If you don't want to worry about these "logistics details", then...CATCH THE TRAIN!

Torredembarra railway station (Renfe) is at a maximum 10mn drive from the house and you can leave your car close to the station (free parking). Trains to Barcelona are scheduled every thirty minutes, they drop you downtown (three different stops). It takes almost one hour from Torredembarra (faster than by car!) and return trip rates Torre/Barcelona are really competitive!

In town, amongst other means, you can use the subway to move from one point of interest to the next one.

Another good point: to move back to Torredembarra, the last trains are reasonnably late at night to allow you to optimize your stay in this amazing town!

Around Castell de Montornes, you can also practice a number of different activities: entertainment, sports, cultural and historical visits, etc.
